I currently live in Encino in the Greater Los Angeles area with my husband. My experience has been in designing for e-commerce, B2B, enterprise software, and casual game markets. I began my career as a web and graphic designer before earning my Master’s degree in Interactive Design. In addition to my 5 years in User Experience Design, I bring to the table about 5 years of experience as a freelance graphic designer, design instructor, and program chair.
My previous work includes owning the design for a suite of live ops and marketing tools for games operational services, a mobile marketplace app, and the front-end website as well as providing guidance and best practices for a variety of customer-facing experiences. Prior to that, I was designing administrative tools for an instructional design software at Intrepid Learning.
I spend a lot of my free time supporting a variety of causes through volunteering. I was a mentor for Hexagon UX Seattle chapter (formerly known as XX+UX). I have also offered support to service providers for the United Way of King County's Community Resource Exchange. In the past, I have been a guest speaker at both public and private schools. Topics I have presented include breaking into the design industry as a new graduate and what it's like working as a designer. I'm hoping to take this experience further in 2019 by presenting at UX events.
Jake Rae | UX Designer, Big Fish Games
Ash’s cunning wit and intelligence are very quickly evident upon meeting her and forever ring true. She is the type of designer who doesn’t take a back seat when approached about a design problem. Instead, she naturally takes the bull by the horns and tackles the problem with great professionalism and execution in every step of the design process. She does this while always keeping in mind the big picture context and, most importantly, the user.
Ragan Webber | Sr. Applications Developer, Intrepid Learning
Ash’s attention to detail and concern for the end-user resulted in many improvements to client- and internal-facing user interfaces. Ash’s pride in her work would show through in the quality of the wireframe and mockup designs she would provide the software development team. As an application developer, I appreciated her openness to input and collaboration on bringing her designs to fruition.
Ahmad Nadeem | Technical Program Manager, Intrepid Learning
I worked with Ash as a Technical Program Manager while she was a UI designer on a key project within our organization. I enjoyed her creative and self-starter personality which was always willing to go the extra mile to satisfy the business. I found her accommodating when things required a change and was appreciative when she collaborated as desired. Her pleasant personality was an added asset to her profile as a designer.
Scott Stanton | Director of Product Management, Big Fish Games
Rapidly shifting priorities makes planning difficult, and often UI/UX design is the most affected because lead times are compressed. Ash manages to deliver quality design while effectively balancing speed and accuracy. Her team building and mentoring was and continues to be particularly strong.
